How big is the device?
The PitPat GPS Tracker is surprisingly small and lightweight, designed to fit all dogs. It weighs in at just 30g and measures 60mm x 34mm x 18mm in size, and unless your dog is a particularly miniature breed, you won’t even notice it’s there. PitPat recommends waiting until your pup is at least 12 weeks old to wear one.
Is identifind suitable for Cats?
Unfortunately, due to the size of the device, we cannot recommend the PitPat GPS Tracker for felines and therefore cannot offer identifind to cat owners. We are however continuously searching the market for a suitable device to track your cat’s location, and in the meantime, our identialert service is our best recommendation for cats.
How do I attach the device to my dog’s collar or harness?
The PitPat GPS Tracker uses a super-strong VELCRO® Brand strap attachment which wraps around your dog’s collar or harness, making it quick, easily removable and most importantly, comfortable.
Will the device fall off? What if it gets lost?
Your dog’s PitPat device is reinforced using a super-strong VELCRO® Brand strap attachment and is almost impossible to pull off accidentally. PitPat do recommend however you make sure it is always fitted correctly and clean and replace the strap as needed. For dogs with wider collars, a longer strap is available for purchase on PitPat.com.
Is the device waterproof?
The PitPat GPS Tracker is 100% completely waterproof, rated IP67.
How accurate is the GPS tracking?
PitPat GPS is the first dog GPS tracker to use two networks for GPS tracking, meaning it has superior coverage, network availability and power performance
Does it have unlimited range?
Yes it does! Because of the worldwide mobile technology PitPat uses (not short-range Bluetooth like some trackers), you could be 100s or even 1000s of miles away from your dog and still track them as long as you are both in mobile coverage.
How long will the battery last?
Much like your mobile phone, the battery life on the device depends on how much it is being used, so it’s hard to give a precise figure.
With normal use, most people will have a battery life of weeks instead of days, thanks to PitPat’s clever techology designed to reduce power consumption.
Are there any other features that come with the GPS Tracker?
Yes! As well as helping you find your dog, the PitPat GPS Tracker also includes award-winning dog activity monitoring. With this, you can track your pup’s exercise, rest and play, as well as distance travelled and calories burned.
Is there a subscription to pay?
Only for our identialert service which is included with identifind for £30 a year. After that, the PitPat GPS Tracker is completely subscription-free, and there are no hidden fees either.
If you decide to, you can join PitPat’s exclusive club PitPat LIFE, to access VIP rewards and unlock certain features in the app, but this is completely optional.
